About the Author: Patricia Murrieta-Flores
I'm the director of the Digital Humanities Research Centre at the University of Chester. My research is primarily concerned with the application of computational technologies to Humanities research. My main field of specialisation is the Spatial Humanities, where I investigate the use of spatial technologies such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and its combination with Natural Language Processing techniques and Corpus Linguistics for disciplines such as History, Literature and Archaeology. I'm currently involved in multiple projects related to the use of GIS and other technologies in humanities including: The Past in its Place (ERC) Deepdead (HERA) The Spatial Humanities (ERC) Reassembling the Republic of Letters (EU-COST) I also direct two projects that explore the use of diverse technologies in historical, archaeological and literary contexts.
